Press Release: January 20, 2020

For immediate release,

The Kanyen’kehaka Sha’tekarihwate clan of Grand River are calling on all individuals and nations across the globe to support our allies the Wet’suwet’en Nation in their fight to protect Mother Earth and their traditional lands against a colonial attack from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in their efforts to enforce an injunction against the Wet’suwet’en on Wet’suwet’en lands by removing them to further capitalist and governmental efforts to place pipelines through Wet’suwet’en territory.

We are asking all individuals and nations for a week of spiritual action to deter and shift the RCMP from their continued invasion within Wet’suwet’en territory while perpetuating the Canadian colonial theft of their traditional lands.  We ask that individuals and nations utilize whatever spiritual and energy medicine available or call on your ancestors to provide protection for the Wet’suwet’en people and their territories.

We also ask that on the day of the new moon of January 24th, we have a global sunrise ceremony for protection.  At sunrise in your part of the world, whatever ceremonies you have, please do so to offer protection.

We ask that if you have offered your spiritual protection and support that you share on social media so that the RCMP and the pipeline companies know that we are collectively opposed to the continued threat against the Wet’suwet’en and Mother Earth.  In addition, should other Indigenous nations require the same support and protection, we asked that we work collectively by offering the same spiritual actions to defend against the continued threat and genocide of Indigenous people across the globe.
