A hate crime in Tyendinaga – Ohaheyo’s story
On April 30th, Ohaheyo, a Kanyen’kéhaka (Mohawk) man in Tyendinaga, was the victim of a hate crime. He was beaten and “gay-bashed” by a group of half a dozen white people at a bush party on reserve. Ohaheyo ended up in hospital with a collapsed lung and severe bruising. This is his story of what happened.
